R50/53 Help!
I could get there in about 12 hours.
Sucks... but I'm giving your thread a bump to keep it on top of the "new posts" thread so maybe someone in your area will see it.
You have AAA or tow coverage on your insurance policy ?

thanks though. Not that I know of for towing and such. I'll have to check it out.
My dad is about 2 hours away with my winter rims and tires. He's gonna be on his way soon. It would save him a lot of energy if I figured something else out first. Thus this thread.
Gonna have to rethink my no spare thing. Never mind the used car didn't come with a spare to begin with.
Made it home. Switching to my winter rims and tires.
Ended up seeing the inside of the tire.... Completely blown out. Not much rubber left.
Time to find an original spare to mount under the car. This traveling with no spare is for the birds!

Glad to hear you got home.
A lot of us carry a small air compressor and either a plug kit or a can of slime. But with the catastrophic damage you had, they would be useless. You can carry a full spare but that sure eats up a lot of space for something you may never need again.'

That's what I was carrying also. But it didn't do any good when you're missing a lot of tire.
I know they make spares to go under my mini. So I'm going to track down one of those with a jack and stuff. I don't like the idea of being stranded someplace.
The idea of run flats even crossed my mind.

I don't remember hitting anything, which is really odd. But, considering there is construction all over the roads I travel, and they have the road cut up, so you hit those 2 inch valleys every now and then, I could have hit something.
So I put my winter rims on and she just doesn't look the same. But I think for now I'm going to try and put my money into a stock spare tire and kit in case I'm ever in this situation again.
Too many if's to think about. If my dad hadn't been home... if I hadn't of bought those spare rims and tires 2 weeks ago.... if I would have lost control (worse than I did) in rush hour traffic... if if if. Not fun and not pretty.
So, next spring I'll look at new rims and tires. I didn't really like the 19"s anyways. I think 18"s or 17"s would give me more sidewall and a smoother ride.

So you have a Cooper, not an S, and it didn't come with a spare? If you have an S, there's no room underneath to mount a spare. Best you can do is a space saver spare behind the passenger seat.
I was going to suggest duct tape for the tire repair
, but I think your tire was beyond even that!
