R53 Paddle Shifter Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the paddle shifters on steering wheel of '06 MCS automatic?

Any tip, info, picture, etc. would be much appreciated.

You have to remove the airbag and unscrew the bolts that holds the paddles.

as far as removing the airbag you have to feel for these soft spots behind the steering wheel located approximately at 11 and 1 o clock. once you find them poke a hole with a screw driver or similar. take the screw driver and shoved it in there gently and feel for a stop. once you get there push in some more and that will disengage the lock that holds the airbag and pull on the airbag. remember there are 2 of these locks (clip).

Removing Paddle Shifters

Could not locate the soft spots at the back of this 3-spoke wheel. However, since the airbag had deployed, I was able to bend the metal plate that housed the airbag, get to the 3 Torx screw, and remove the plate. Once the backing plate was removed, all fell in place.

I was able to remove the switches on the stering wheel, the paddle shifters, adn teh stalks, no proble.

I really appreciate your help in guiding me.

Bahman
