Don't you believe it!
That little red button contols... the weather.
That's it... the weather. Everytime you touch
that little bulb of red glass it starts raining on
SUV's somewhere, not where you can see them,
but somewhere out there a SUV is peltted with
rain and you caused it.
There... now you know.
Dogspeed.

That little red button is.......a MINI Tickler.
Every time you touch it, one of the MINI workers who built your car gets a mini tickle.
Sorta like a needle in a voodoo doll only instead of causing pain...... it causes joy!
So, just for fun (and to thank those guys and gals that built your MINI) ..... press the red button.....

By the way, NRX: I don't think the auto a/c has any clue what it is doing (which is why my newer MINI doesn't have it) but it is supposed to have sensors to measure your temperature (in it), as well as something to measure how strong the sun is shining (on the dash).
So why my 2002 version couldn't also figure that the engine was cold and there was no point blowing freezing air on me when I want to be hot, I don't know!
[I think this has been fixed for 2004 models]

Either they fixed the auto air or I'm just real easy to please. I set mine on 68 degrees six months ago when I got my car. It's been cold outside and it's been hot outside but the auto air has performed perfectly. I don't think it could possibly do any better.

I've never understood all the whining about the auto A/C either. I set mine on 68 and leave it. The temp is always perfect and I only need to make changes when I defrost the windshield. And as a bonus, I get that great MINI logo carved into the middle of the dash!
