MCS won't start! Help!

Whoever can help me I would appreciate it. My bf and I replaced my clutch on my 02 MCS. Lots of problems in between replacing the clutch and installing the battery however, when we got to the battery we started to breathe a sigh of relief until I turned the key and....nothing. So we checked the starter. Unsure about that. We checked pin 10 on the electrical connector in the diagnostic area (round connector on the driver's side behind the radiator) with a multimeter and we didn't get any kind of voltage from there. We re-bled the clutch slave cylinder. No problems with that. We tried putting a magnet on the master cylinder clutch sensor. Tried to start it, nothing. We are running out of ideas QUICKLY and getting very exasperated!!! We can push start it and it runs well but, I can't exactly start it that way every time I shut it off. We really don't want to take it to a mechanic so he can hook it up to his computer and charge us a massive amount for doing such a simple task. In one word HELP!!!!

That thread points you to a thread about the second generation cars, but this can happen to the first generation cars as well. I'm pretty sure that I rebuilt a perfectly good starter because the clutch switch had come loose. After having the starter rebuilt on my wife's '03 I found the clutch switch had snapped out of its mounting. Snapping it back into place solved the problem.

Thank you for your knowledge. As an MCS owner, I tend to nuke problems considering the lack of resources on the internet. I've found most MINI owners don't work on their own vehicles. Come to find out, it was just the starter. Huh, who'd a thunk?
