I am a first time MINI owner I have a 03 MC R50 i just recently purchased. I do not know if this is normal but while im at a stop light/sign rpms drop below 500rpm it only does this when i use my ac and only when the compressor kicks on then the rpms return to normal.

my question, is this normal? because it doesn't do it when i drive without the ac any help is greatly appreaciated

 

All is fine....
Just a typical low hp/low tourqe motor taking a second to adjust its idle for the extra load of the ac...very common on small cars!
