Hello All,

I'm seriously considering ordering an '04 MCS this spring, but I hear that there may be significant changes in '05. Any word on the exact production date(s)?

I'd like to take delivery in mid-June. Should I wait it out for the '05?

-Matt

The MCS will have minor interior and exterior changes for 2005. See this article: http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/02/..._mini_revealed

However if it were me personally, I'd wait.

No need to wait. Get yours now and bring it to the people who paint the traffic cones
to do the paint. Trick or treat

Seems like the 05 changes are all aesthetic. I did not really prefer any of them to the 04 myself, and find the new lights, rear valance and front grill treatment all a little much. I was considering waiting if they had decided to put in some real seats, but this did not happen in 05, so I'm going with an 04.

I thought about this very hard and decided some aesthetic difference weren't enough to deter me. However, I must say I do like the new headlights and 3 piece dash. Might think about doing a swap at one point. I plan on tinting the tails so I don't care about them. Of course, if you like waiting you could always way till what, 2006 when they put new engines in. Heh. The two month wait (not quite however I'm still waiting) for the car is long enough.

I'd still recommend waiting for a new 2002..........but alas, the chance for that will never come again......and there will never be an experience that's as magical as driving one of those around and about........which is not to say that the 2005's and beyond won't be fantastic.......but neither will it ever be the same.

I've heard that there will be significant changes in 2006 vs. 2005. With the new engine coming, why not wait for the 2007.

In all seriousness, enjoy it now! With the high resale value for the MINI, you can always sell the old for the new down the road.

I agree with the "enjoy it now" opinions.

I'd hate for you to have to live through one more summer without driving a MINI.

I was first in line when the '04 models came rolling out, and I LOVE my MINI.

...HOWEVER... I have to say that the 2005's look sharp. I love the new headlights but above all, I love the new interior -specifically the gauges. I have to admit (shhh, don't let my MINI hear!) that the brief, fleeting thought did cross my mind that I should have waited. But then, I got behind the wheel and motored around and thought, nah. I couldn't imagine missing out on a whole year of motoring. Besides, I have the best car in the world!
