I've had my MCS for about 18 months and I notice
that I'm leaving the back seats down more often
than not. I like the look of the seats up, but it
seems that I'm always lugging stuff around.

How much do most MINI owners leave the seats up?

Godspeed.

The rear seats are always left up, as we have two "evil spawn"; 10 & 6, and they love the thrill ride experienced in those seats.

I've had the rear seats up in my MINI for a total of about 3 days in the past year. I personally like the look of them down, like the room it gives, makes the exhaust sound a bit louder....I would have them out but just haven't got around to building a deck to replace it yet.

I like to keep my backseats up all the time, but there are lots of times it becomes really nifty to bring it down to be able to carry anything you need. Although my aftermarket exhaust is quite comfortable on the inside, with the seats down, it doesn't get too loud, but it does make the sound a bit more intrusive and annoying.

I've always noticed this one thing, and it seems like it's all my imagination, but then why would I imagine it? Well anyway, everytime I've gone to the canyons with the seats down, it feels like the car doesn't handle as solid. Yeah yeah, I know I'm probably wrong.. but it feels like that, so I will keep them up for that reason as well, haha.

My seats are always up unless I’m on a road trip. I find the MINI is much noisier if they’re down.

I'm always driving somewhere or other (long distance) so my seats are down pretty often as I'm too lazy, upon reaching my destination or returning home, to empty my car immediately. In fact, I usually don't get around to it for at least a week after I reach my destination/home. The result is that I live in my car and it's a positive wreck.

I prefer it with the seats up, though.

Although I usually have the seats up, I absolutely love them down because my UUC sounds awesome that way! Its rich tone is less muffled. Music to my ears!

I keep my seats up most of the time. It's quieter, especially from the rattles! But I also regularly haul around 300 pounds of boxes every few weeks, so I bought the boot mat extension to protect my seat backs (I have profile leather). I chopped the mat up, and mounted it so it's ready to use whether my seats are up or down. I currently don't have it split, so I can't do a split seat, but I might change that if I find the need in the future.

Mine stay up unless I need the room for luggage or other things. I have the magnaflow & love it but, seats up do help with the drone.

seats up most of the time, except when moving a large item. exhaust note is somewhat louder with seats down and windows up, may not notice it with windows open; come-on-spring

They have been down since I got the car. I have the dealer option rubber boot mat and the rubber extension that covers the seat backs, and do not anticipate raising them any time soon.

Ever since I got the car... they've been down a total of 2 times.
