my JCW badge was stolen from my boot, they left a couple of tiny scratches that came off with some rubbing compound...and the dealer wants $87.50 for it....what a rip off!!!!....sad thing is I'm probably buying it.

use this time to debadge the entire mini, this way you pull up to another S and they have no idea what's coming

$90 for a badge?! Leave it off man..you will always know it's a JCW and that's what counts.
Plus get another one and they might do it again =-(

go stealth..leave it off.

Where was this? It's probanly already been sold on e-bay and on a Mini wanabe with some wimp-a** mods. Unconscionable b*s*a*d.
Think I'll find a way to reinforce mine form inside the boot and behind the grill.

Badges?

You don't need no stinking badges!

Was it just the JCW badge? If so, it could be taken by another MINI driver, which is very unfortunate.

This happened to our Lexus when we were in NYC. They broke the badge and left a couple of deep scratches on the car.

Some worthless waste of skin has no respect for hard earned property.

That is why I will always garage my MCS when at home. It doesn't take some idiot much time to do this to a car. I hope you have better luck in the future. Maybe next time you will catch the bum in the act and can give them a lesson they will remember.

this sucks to hear

however

I'd leave it off anyway - stealth is not only discreet, but sleeper too!

One local JCW motorer near here told me the dealer recommended going w/o badges because they were being stolen. Why? It just couldn't be other MINI owners, could it?...but why would petty thieves care? It just makes no sense. (...but then I'm not a thieving punk.)

MINISPYDER,

The part number for the JCW boot badge is 51 14 0 306 113. Included is the emblem and the double-sided adheasive tape that is used to attach it to the boot hatch surface.

Email Brian at Classic MINI (BMW) Parts in Ohio at bmwparts@classicautocampus.com and he will quote you the cost to replace it as what I'm sure will be a much more reasonable price than $87.

Charlie
