Who's gotten their first battle wound?

Just recently discovered that it appears someone put their palm on the front of my car and pushed a little....it's not that noticeable at all but it's driving me CRAZY!
Time to call the Dent Doctor!

On the Cooper I had 2 small stone chips in the windscreen. Other
than that...no problemos... I always park as far from other cars
as I can find a spot. Sorry about the ding...

Took one of the dogs and the cat to the vet on monday, the dog is a wuss about jumping into cars (she's an 85 lb. german shepard, she should be able to do it just fine, especially in a MINI...), so she got her front paws in, then just started SCRAPING with her hind legs. Gaaaaah! I had towels down ready to protect the paint before I put h er in, but couldn't get them down far enough in time. Had to break out Meguires 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9... and now the scratches are mostly gone. Pbbth.

My first battle wound  When I park my baby anywhere else, it's as far away from civilization as possible. So far so good, but someday I know I too will need the dent doctor.

***Something I learned from our last meet (thanks for the tip MINIclo!) that every one should know is that when you close you boot, use the plastic cup-like handles inside the boot to pull the door down. Then use the ball of your palm on the bar above the license plate area to push it closed. Just pulling the doors down and pushing on the exterior of the painted body door can cause indentations in it, just like some one did to L.Mini's hood.***

As soon as I got my "MINI 13" plates, I got a rock chip in my windshield from
an idiot truckdriver who decided to change lanes in front of me at the last minute,
AND today, got curb rash on my wheel in a parking garage.

Wondering if I should change my number??? LOL

Windscreen chip x 2 (fixed)

Door dings x 3 (2 were removed by a paintless ding guy)

scratches on doors--one on each door

giant scrape on hood from road debris

Other than a mysterious hairline scratch on the hood (aka bonnet) that mostly buffed out and a couple of small stone chips - the bodywork is doing well.

However, the windscreen is becoming pitted and gathering chips pretty readily in city and freeway driving (around Sydney). I think it is mostly due to the upright nature of the windscreen. I remember my old Saab 99 had a similar upright windscreen and showed the same sort of "wear".

Meanwhile, I am weighing up going the clear vs fabric bra route for the future.

Cheers

Uhhhh tractor trailer hit us from behind when she was 30 days old... but you probably already knew that from our other thread on the subject.

Other than that we've got the first of the scratches on the front end from road debris ... low on the front bumper. No biggie...

Motor on!

Where do I start? I managed to remove all the scratches. The scratch on the leather is not visible when the seats are upright. I am not worried about my tore-up wheel. I was going to upgrade them anyway. The chip above the license plate, the dealer has to fix that.

I took a rock just above the windshield at ~90mph. It chiped the paint off down to the metal and dented in the roof a bit. Glad it didn't hit the glass! Of course this was about 4 weeks after I get Betty back from repairing the damage from hitting a deer head on!

I read a post from somewhere on here and went to a government web sire for car complaints and there were numberous complaints of the windshield chipping way to easy.

So far the clear bra has been doing it's job - no paint damage yet. [knocks on wood]

And I've been careful about parking, so no door dings yet either.

It's only been a month and a half though...
