Confused over control arm bushing repair

2004 S with 98k. Mini dealer in Tennessee said control arm bushings are torn & need replacing. Local Firestone shop said they look good. Is there something different on Mini's that we are overlooking? Don't want to replace them until needed.

Not that I know of, maybe you need a 2/3. If you change them I really like my Powerflex.

My understanding is they are shot at 60k. Go with Powerflex for sure.

Motor On!

I went with the Alta PSRS which added more metal and stiffer bushings.. should 2x the life compared to the OEM design.

Mine were bad at ~60K.

Here's a quick way to check if they are bad. Note how the second wheel appears "loose" upon kicking it:

I never kicked the tires but I could feel a pull while braking when mine went bad.
