OURMINI turned 4 years old on December 10th and we have 55k fun miles so far. A little more than the average. We haved been on short and long trips and every mile is just plain FUN. Someday I plan to put 6K on by going on a coast-to-coast trip and back. Wish I could have paarticipated in MTTS run.

I guess mine was about a 09/06 build. I have heard that a lot of people put their MINIs up in storage at the first sign of bad weather. Not me. I have had Winston03 in rain, snow, sleet, and gloom of night. Of my 4 vehicles, the MINI is the only one I trust to go the distance in all kinds of weather. And it is a blast to drive. Sure wish that I could convince the SO that we need a 07 convertible.

Ah, I feel terrible... I've had my GP for four and a half weeks and have 508 miles on it. That's the terrible thing about being a mass-transit commuter!

My 2003 MC is a Nov. '02 build with just 99,200 miles on it.
(Will I pass 100K before 2007? Remains to be seen.)

Dec. 02 build 2003 MCS (picked up Jan 18th, 2003) -- 70,266. I'm fairly disappointed in myself, actually. I'm clearly not motoring enough.

I picked mine up in March 2005. I now have 19K on the O. I usually commute on a motorcycle.

Like carrotzilla, I ride alot when weather is obtainable (not much with the blizzards here lately )

But, in 2 1/2 years since I drove White Lightning into town from Michigan, only amounted to 25k. Guess, you can say I'm preserving her

quick question...

Currently 29707 on the odo. Btw, should I get a full service check-up along with my oil change?

I was going to take my MINI in for an Oil change (As a test to make sure I know where the the dealer is since it's 70 miles away) and I figured since I'm getting the oil changed, might as well get the inspection all checked out. The OBC says inspection is around 2400 miles, but doing it early doesn't seem to be a big concern I would say.

Should I do that?

Good Luck! Most dealers will not pull it that early. The window seems to be around 500 to 1000 miles. A song and dance might help you, they pulled one of ours about 1500 miles early but the car had been dropped off via flatbed for a bad bypass valve at the time.

Alright then. Now one final n00bish question: Do I have to make an appointment or do I just take it in?

No problem They more then likely will want you to call for an appointment

DAMN!!!

You drive an average of 4,300 miles per month according to my calculation (17 months of ownership). By the time your car is 2 years old, you would have easily crossed the 100K mile barrier! 10 years worth of usage in just 2....not bad!

Do you live in the car?

Cool. I'll do that then. They aren't probably that busy, so sometime next week should not be much trouble.

mileage milestone

Major mileage milestone reached at 11:55 am this morning...

Some items of note:

- It's not a lot of miles for an 05, but I just purchased it in August with 4900...so I think that level of motoring keeps me in the club

- Note that I am going slow when I snapped this image (didn't have the coconuts to try it at highway speed)

- 407 miles on the tank, and no fuel light yet. I filled her up this afternoon, and figured I got 34.4 mpg on this tank. Even with winter blend fuel, stop-and-go beltway traffic, and cruising at 70 when I'm clear, I have not yet gone below 33 mpg and almost hit 38 mpg once...

...did I mention that I LOVE my MINI?
