Some of you have some insanely low milage on your Mini, I am jealous! Actually, you motivate me to get back to riding my bike to work ;-)

Just ticked over 105k miles in my new (to me) 2002 Cooper S. I've done about 500 miles in the last week

I sometimes ran 89 octane but many on NAM have said the MCS engine runs hot/lean and likes to eat valves. Surprised it hasn't happened to yours.

Funny you should bring this back up now - just the other day I finished a second tank of premium to verify mileage - same mpg premium vs regular. So that's another myth busted!

Keet - extremely jealous!! That thing is like a time capsule.

My MCS spent its first 10 years on Nantucket - couldn't go far! I bet there are quite a few low mile gems on that island!

My 2005 R53 MCS DS/B just clicked over to 65K miles... Had her since new. She's been a garage queen for her first 10 years but, that's about to change. Lost my company car and just started a 76 mile commute two weeks ago. Winter PA roads are bone jarring with those 17" S Lights. Swapped them out for a set of used stock S 16"s (thanks to a fellow Philly Mini member who hooked me up with a sweet deal) and new Hankook Ventus V4s. Blacked out the wheels with graphite metalized plasti coat. OMG what a difference in the ride and the look! Also worked all Sunday changeing all the fluids to keep this up to date. Hit the back roads on the way home tonight, just warm enough to open the sunroof. Man, after owning it for almost 11 years, I still love this car. Might be my imagination but, it seems so much more responsive with the 16" wheels. Anyone experience this?
