Nevermind, I went through everything and found the problem!

*****

I just finished installing my Cravenspeed Short Shifter kit. Because I'm working on other aspects of the car I can't take it for a test drive just yet. Anyway, I'm sitting there "mock" shifting and the shifter is off center. it leans to the right and when i go through the gears, I feel like I only have R, 1,2,3,4 and there's no room for 5 and 6. are they just so close that they are distinguishable? I guess a test drive would cure that.

Everything seems to be installed right. is anyone else's cravenspeed shifter leaning to the right? Do you feel like gears 5 and 6 are no longer there? When I put it in reverse, it's just barely to the left of center. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I installed the "cage" that holds the lower ball upside down. Once I flipped it over, everything fell into place.

How do you like this shifter? I would like to purchase this. Also, is the installation pretty simple?

The install was a little annoying, I had to heat up the plastic connector on the passenger's side to bend a little to fit. Everything else was straightforward.

I love the way the shifter felt in the lowest setting, it notched just right. However, the adjustment screw wears out over time and it will slip and move around a lot which sucks if you are shifting on a course quickly.

I've since sold the car but will one day get another JCW, but not the Craven adjustable short shifter. Fixed short shifter yes, but no on the adjustable.

We would be happy to replace any parts that have worn on our our shifters, or anything else. In the case of the locking mechanism, you can use a touch of grease or never seez on the threads, then use the flats at the base of the collar to wrench instead of hand tighten and I am quite certain that any unintended adjustment can be completely eradicated.

Thank you for the tip! I sold the car to one of my best friends so I will pass this along to him. The shifter felt great when It was in the lowest setting. I loved how well it notched into gear.
