Maintenance service questions

Hello,
My wife has 2006 mini with cvt transmission.
It has about 25k miles (15min city driving from home to work), but since it's 5 years old, I am about to do major services, like spark plugs, cap, rotor, and all the fluids.
Where do you guys order parts? Any good online sites?
What kind of spark plugs do you recommend? and do I have to gap it manually?
Any suggestion or advice on the service that I am going to do?
Thank you.

MiniMania, Moss, Outmotoring, the dealer ... shop around for the best price and decide if you are going to use aftermarket stuff or only OEM. You MIGHT even have luck at you local auto parts place as the MINI is not new anymore. My local AutoZone carries 4 different types of brake pads for MINI.

What kind of spark plugs do you recommend? and do I have to gap it manually?
plug choice is very subjective and you can find many threads here on NAM. You will be using a higher end plug in any case and IME I've had these come out of the box with the proper gap but never trust that ... always check if possible. Note that the OEM plugs are a multi-prong type, good luck checking a gap on those!

Any suggestion or advice on the service that I am going to do?
Sounds like you haven't done much of this b4 ... ever changed the oil yourself? On this MINI specifically? If no, then read here {other NAM threads} first ... even something so simple as an oil change has interesting twists and complications for many newbies to MINI maintenance.

Things that have bitten others:
- stripped the oil drain plug, not able to get it out
- broke the oil filter o-ring and dumped oil all over
- could not properly bleed the cooling system after a flush
- spark plugs came back out of the head . . .

Best bet is to either find a Bentley or a Haynes to borrow or better yet someone with experice for a helping hand - where are you? Is there a MINI group active near by? Bring it to my garage and I'll help - Space Coast Florida

Thank you for the advice.

I guess I sounded like a noob questioning above
I have worked on all of my cars that I owned. I have experience changing timing belts, pcv system, oils etc. I can do everything except dropping transmission and lifting engine because I don't have a place to do it.
I changed the engine oil of my wife's mini a few month ago.

Anyway, I didn't really check it, but what do you mean by post pictures if I find cap and rotor? Mini has no cap and rotor??

I didn't know mini cooper doesn't have rotor and cap?? What do you mean by "if you find a place for a cap and rotor please post pictures"?

few {any?} cars have a distributor any more ... the MINI certainly doesn't.

Maybe you were talking about a cap and rotor for something OTHER than the dizzy?

The eqiv on a MINI would be changing the ignition coil (NOT like the coil of old)

This takes the physical place of the old dizzy, with cap, rotor, points, condensor, coil and more; and I'd replace the wires if I was going this far. OTOH these parts are expected by the factory to go 100,000 miles ....

06 tranny fluid fill location

I have a 2006 mini S w/ auto tranny. Can someone explain to me where to add transmission fluid? I was told to remove driver's side front tire to find place to add fluid. I was also then told that to fill with fluid needed to remove the battery but the battery is in the truck so obviously that isn't accurate. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thx!

Although BMW says the fluid is "lifetime" and has no schedule for changing it, it's a good idea to do it. Here's a thread:
