I know the AM/FM/CD comes pre-wired for a CD Changer in the boot. Does the AM/FM/Cassette also come w/ this pre-wiring? I hope so. I need the cassette for radio & TV talk shows that I record onto cassette and books on tape from the local library that I listen to during my 1 hr. each way commute every day. However, I'd like to have the option of having 6 CDs in the boot for when I want to rock while motoring.

If this is not an option, can you suggest best method of getting both Cassette and CD? Thanks.

Hi

I am trying to convince my lovely wife that this is the little sports car for her. I am going to St. Louis tommorrow to test drive one of the mini cooper S. Anyway, I am curious about whether the cassette has preamp outputs for the cd changer.

thanks

jc

think a british car should be BRG.

That is a good question to ask on the test drive...make that salesperson earn that commission and see if they know their stuff.

Touche` 2minis... but I have an inherent distruss of anything coming out of a car salespersons mouth. I am just a bit skeptical of their education, qualification, and motivation. They might say would you like to drive this blue mini, part of me will be looking at the car to see if it is actually blue.

If it's not an option, no one has told me, my am/fm/cassette, and my 6 CD changer in the boot for the last two months. I called mini before I ordered to make sure the am/fm/cassette had mode and wiring for CD changer, and it did. I have professional reviews on cassette (and many cd's recorded onto tape), that I listen to, and like you, I like the option of a cd changer. They work just fine, and so do the controls on the steering wheel. So go ahead and order it.

drstevenj -- seems to be the definitive answer. Did you get the factory 6 CD changer or an aftermarket unit? If factory, did they truly install it at the factory or did they do it at the dealer? Kind of need to know b/c my build date is 10.18!!! Appreciate the information.

I had it installed by the dealer at I think 7 or 800 dollars (ouch), but it works fine and if it doesn't, I know where to take it. There wasn't a factory install changer when I ordered.
