That's awesome that you are over 200,000 miles on your mini. I don't feel so bad now about buying a well maintained 03' MCS with 88,000 miles on it. If you take care of them...I think they will go for a long long time!

I'm at about 165k at present, and still don't have lust in my heart for any other car, even a newer Mini.

I look forward to the 200k mark - probably the end of next year or early the following year.

Of course the heart and lungs in Gollum are actually at only 38k, due to a little transplant operation -- see this thread....

Gollum is an autocross warrior, and although the "patina" is increasingly evident, he still goes like a raped ape (no I have never, so don't ask!)

To see the extent of my affection for this little beast, here's my open letter to the various guilty parties...

Cheers y'all!

(Posted from Chennai India - where a Mini is larger than most cars - and has more wheels too!)

Charlie

Why are we so gaga that a Mini reached/passed 200,000 miles? I expect mine to have no problems getting there. I'm so confident that I've opened a separate bank account to make sure it gets there. And if out of money, I will push it there.

Yep...I see no reason why they shouldn't make it there is taken care of. I know lots of people that have cars and trucks well into the 200,000 mile mark...and are still running great. We're not in the 1970's where a car is considered dead at 100,000 miles
