Awesome! Lynne's around 77k now (I really need to get on that serp belt replacement and pulley swap). I remember recently talking to a co-worker who thought "wow, those are high miles for an '05. I usually trade my cars in around 50,000."

"Car guys" and "Gearheads" I suppose ... Keep her truckin'.

Also, sorry for double posting, but I'm curious: how do your strut towers look?

Surprisingly perfect. I haven't noticed any mushrooming at all. With some of the potholes I have hit, it's really a wonder. I don't have any sort of braces on them either.

At 260,000 mine look fine too. I added plates around 175k or so, but still not bad I would say.

Klaus and Günter must have been having a good day when they stamped your upper strut mounts.

I had to take a rubber mallet and a 2x4 to mine. I bought eBay camber plates and a Whiteline brace to make sure I don't have to play whack-a-mole with my car again. All this under 70k miles ...

Congrats on all those miles. I just turned 14,100 miles on my 2003 MC.

No problems yet....lol.

Just wondering, have you changed the fluid in your Midland, and if so did you use the original Texaco fluid or something else?

Congrats on the low maintenance record! I changed the fluid with the clutch job at 150k. Lord only knows what kind of fluid it was.

Just ordered my 2012 and can't wait to start on my way to 200k. Glad to read that there are plenty of high mileage mini's out there.

Keep on motoring!!!

I used to trade every couple of years, but I can't think of anything I'd rather have (in the under $100,000 price range). I still love the MINI and it still makes me smile when I see it in a parking lot.

Klaus and Günter? Those names don't sound Polish or Pakistani to me.

Congrats to 200k!!!

By the time mine hits 200k, I will have perhaps paid $200k for repair.

I was afraid I would miss that, but I watched it for about 9 or 10 miles...

Congrats on the milestone A lot of discussion today on other threads about oil change intervals. What was yours to get to 200K w/o problems?

I usually change the oil every 10K miles or so. I do have to admit that I went 15k once. I use Mobil 1 fully synthetic and switched to the high mileage formula when I hit 75k. I have always used Mann filters except this last time when I had to change my oil before I headed out on a trip and I used either a Wix or Purolator. I will NEVER do that again since I had to trim the plastic to get it to fit. Back with the Mann next time for sure!

I got 120,000 miles in my E36 before I needed to change the pads. I guess I just didn't use the brakes a whole lot.

I love this thread. It supports my decision to keep my Mini. I'm only just over 100K.
