R50/53 Garbage sucked into my scoop
Garbage sucked into my scoop
Yesterday I drove up US-95 through central Idaho. At one point, I was following a pickup that must have had paper garbage in the back. Every once in awhile a piece of paper garbage would blow out of the back of the pickup and past me. I also followed and passed a number of logging trucks (which can really move when they want to).
When I got to Coeur d'Alene, I stopped for gas and opened the bonnet to check the oil. There on top of my intercooler was a big chunk of paper and some wood chips. Good grief! The paper was almost big enough to completely cut off the air flow to the intercooler. I didn't notice any problems driving, but that was disturbing.
Anybody have problems with sucking junk in through the scoop?
(By the way, Green Bean (my 2004 MCS) really ate up Whitebird hill and the Lewiston grade and still gave me 34 mpg from New Meadows to Coeur d'Alene. Impressed).
