I'm interested in a roof decal, but also want the option of not committing long term. I also am interested in being able to change the design frequently. Does anyone think a "window cling" or magnetic decal would stand up to the wear and tear?

It depends on what you are looking for in terms of design and function. I've seen a company that offers static bonnet stripes which would seem to fit your need. If your looking for versitility in design you may want to try a vinyn application. Your cost will be relatively low and you can get some cool designs. The only thing you want to be careful with is covering too much of the windows as it creates blind spots. Long term use of vinal may cause the area that is not covered to fade at an uneven rate. A third option is going with a "vehicle wrap" the cost is greater, but you get digital quality plus the deisgn can flow easily from car to window without obstruting your view. 3M makes a great product that is very durable for this type of application.
