Well, after almost 18 months of anticipation,we finally ordered our Cooper!

We were surprised to find, however, that our MA would not let us
spec the new steering wheel as a part of the Premium Package.

MA Stated that MultiFunction-3Spoke wheel is:
-Included in Sport Package
-$350 a'la carte
-Or $200 with the Premium Package

This is contrary to how pricing is stated on the website, where the
Preimum package gets you *either* MF steering wheel. Our spec includes
the Sport Seats and 16" wheels, so our MA was really pushing us
towards the Sports Package. We were somewhat suspicious that the up-charge
on the 3-spoke was just a ploy to get us into the Sport Package.

Nonetheless.. We are quite excited!

Cooper
JB/W
Premimum Package
Leatherette/Anthracite
Sport-Seats
5-Star 16" wheels (silver)

Sadly, your MA is wrong.

When Mini first posted the 3 Spoke on the web site, they programed that extra cost with the Combo Pack #1. But it was a mistake and has been corrected.

When you order #!, you have a choice of the 2 multi steering wheels. It does not cost extra to have the 3 spoke wheel in your MINI if you order the Premium Pack.

I've got the 3 spoke comming on my Feb delivery MC. I did upgrade to Sport Seats and there was an additional cost for them as I'm getting a MC, not an "S".

vooreps...

That is exactly what I told my MA, who replied that the website is wrong.
I was sort of at a loss as to how to challenge that statement.

I wonder if that MINI Support Phone# could settle the issue.

Flyingsluzer, What Vooreps said is correct. I ordered an '04 MCS in the end of November with the premium package with the 3 spoke MF steering wheel at no additional charge. If this is the dealership's attitude, I might look elsewhere for you Cooper.

Cheers,

JD

I may suggest Classic Mini or Mini of the Hamptons, they are straight-forward
and ship at reasonable costs  Both have links from the "vendors" section of this site.

yah, im with zfxr on this one.

unless you want to wait several months to get your car, i would just
pick one out from the Hamptons or other dealers that may have what you
want and pay the extra $500 or so to have it delievered to your house.

I agree with everyone here...Sounds like they are trying to get a little extra money off you. I had a similar situation when inquiring about the rear fog lights. I wanted the $100 factory installed kit, but my MA told me that cost didn't cover everything, and I should just wait and add it later. I didn't come to find out until later that he was probably just trying to get a little more out of me down the road. Anyway, whatever you choose, I like your specs...They look quite familiar...
