Just finished the deal on this mini. so glad to have it home. so far i ordered a 17% pulley and a intake. thinking coilovers, exhaust and tune next. whats everyone think? also where can i get the ac shnitzer front bumper?

It's actually hyper purple metallic according to the original window sticker. I love the color.

 

There was Hyper Blue Metallic or Purple Haze Metallic(Black Eyed Purple in the UK) in '06, but not a Hyper Purple Metallic. Check under the hood there is a badge with the actual color there.
Looks like Hyper Blue from the pic.

Beautiful MINI! Would you do me a favor and look for the build date sticker in the driver's-side doorjamb? I thought MINI had discontinued Purple Haze by 2006 (but obviously not). That's probably the only color I would have preferred to the Cool Blue I ended up getting, but I'm certain it wasn't an option when mine was built (Sept 2006).

I also would have loved one in "Solid Gold", but I think that was a Cooper-only color (Not 'S') even when it was available.

 

the build date is 12/05. its def a 06 as the vin,carfax all show it as a o6. i love the ph though. i just finished clay barring it. next is the compound on the orbital then a cleaner wax and a high gloss wax. i was going to wrap the car in matte black but i have fallen in love with the purple. tomorrow it goes out to get 10 percent tint in all windows including the windshield.

 

Thanks - that makes sense. We ordered my wife's MINI in April of 2006, and mine in August of 2006, and I don't remember PH being an option either time, so I guess it was discontinued sometime between December of 2005 and April of 2006.

 

clay bar'd, polish and wax and then painted my x-lites comp grey, same color as teh z06 wheels
