R50/53 Indi Blue.....is it going?
My MA is still sticking to the story that they are "unaware" that Indi Blue is going away. I figure that Mini is telling them to say that to everyone. Does anyone know for sure that it is going away and if so when. They also said the model year change will be September 1st. Thanks!

Yes Indie Blue is indeed going away - most likely at the beginning of the 2005 model year. There should be several color changes along with the switching to a new (very similar) blue)

I saw that post on Bridger, but I have not seen anything definite. Since the dealership will not admit it, I wonder if it is true or not. Any color would be fine, but Indi blue is sweet.

most dealers are typically the last to know these things. They'll probably get a general bulletin as 2005 orders are about to commence.

So, Jason, I guess the issue for you is that you can't order a 2004? You ought to still have plenty of time to get in an order for an IB. If your local dealer (do you have a local dealer in KY?) can't do it, shop elsewhere...there are always a lot of cars/order allocations up here in the northeast!
I spoke to my dealership and they have had no official word on new wheels or color changes.
Gabe says it's going to happen- I agree. So folks that are interested in Indi Blue need to get their orders in before MINIUSA announces the change. Like what happened to silk green and velvet red, MINIUSA will announce a change date and will take orders up to that date then that is it.
However since there is a waitlist to order in some regions then you have to plan ahead. For example there is a 13 month wait for Long Beach MINI so if indi blue goes then people on the list will likely not get a chance for that color.
Why discontinue IB? Just a change and time to offer other colors. I don't think it reflects that IB was not a good seller but merely an opportunity to try new things like orange and light blue. It's variety that makes things interesting. They can always bring back IB later if the demand is great enough.
So far my dealer says Pepper white is selling very well in both MCS and MC. Erik-Black is a classic color so no chance of that going away anytime soon. And in fact in most places around the country, Black is rare. In Hawaii I think there are more MCS that are black than MC so you are in good company. Just put on a carbon fiber bonnet and you'll be really unique and it would go great with your black.

I cant imageine a car being sold without blue as a color option. and i dont mean powder / electric / light blue. Do you know of other cars where a standard blue isnt offered as a color?
EVen if indy blue does go away, i would expect them to replace it with another blue of a different shade, but not too light or electrified etc.
