If I see another mini, I always wave, honk, flash something to say Hi! Just me.

there are two MINIs in my parking garage...I pulled up to a light before entering and noticed the lady in the gold/black Cooper lining up behind me. I gave her a double tap of the brakes (rear flashing) and she waved as seen through my rear view mirror...

the other, a hot lookin' CR/W S parked next to me out of mutual admiration (?)...I say this because I park all the way in the empty corner of the garage next to the stairs...5th floor...

some wave...some don't...I do...I liken it to a less hairy Harley owners group

Well, I always wave and flash. I think I am going to stop beeping b/c that seems to scare ppl. Anyways, I posted here that this PW/B didn't wave and I was mad a little bit ago. But...it's wierd b/c since I posted that, every MINI I see seems more enthusiastic than me to wave etc. Grant it, I only have seen 2 other MINIs since then, but my luck is picking up (not too many in my area). They both waved. As for me, I'll never stop waving. It's one of my favorite things about having a MINI.

I guess I'm going to drive up to Indy (3 HRS) so I can wave at Cooperbeagle. Haven't seen too many MINIs in southern Indiana. I wave when I can.

In the Socal forum we have a MINI sighting thread going and those of us who post, wave. But I'd say the majority of the MINI drivers in Irvine, don't wave, can't figure out WHY yet!

We DO like to park next to each other though.

I keep waving, but often there is no response. What no one knows is....I say "HI!" every time a see a MINI, which usually comes out in a squeeky 10 year old voice. I can't help it!

I do a high-beam blink. The other drivers blink back a lot of the time

Go ahead and keep waving--the other driver is lost in the "Cooper Zone"--that ethereal place where I find myself visiting on long curvy roads...

Cheers... ops:

I am very familiar with the wave from my Vette days. Some people get it some dont .I started the wave as soon as I picked up my MCS. Makes you feel like a member of an inner circle. US soldiers will wave or nod to oncoming friendly troops as a sign of respect. This was usually the case till they found out we were MPs,then they just give you a blank look

i still wave or give the tried and true NY "how you doin'" head nod.
i saw this guy just today in a brand new (still with temp plate) CR/W MCS and as i passed him i waved he looked at me like "do i know you?"... just give him some time he'll figure it out.

After half a century of being on this Mother Earth, you'd think I'd be an old crank.
Well I am a cranky grump!

But I still wave or blink my lights, an occasional honk of the horn has been know to escape my MC.

Okay, did I miss something here?
'Cause I try to wave all the time, even before I got my MINI a week ago!

They probably thought I was some idiot.

I'm sure I've seen some of you goofballs waving at me.

Well, so long as it makes you happy, that's all that matters.

>>I've been driving a Jeep Wrangler for about 5 years. I'd say at least 75% of Wrangler owners wave at each other. I'm included in that. I didn't really understand at first why people were waving at me, at first. I bought the car from my brother, and I thought they might be waving because they were friends of his and thought HE was driving. Once I figured it out, I thought "yeah, I really like my Jeep too, so I'll wave). Now, even when I'm driving or riding shotgun in something other than a Jeep, I often wave at oncoming Jeeps by mistake. I won't have my MCS until July, but I already have the urge to wave at oncoming MINIs when I'm driving. I'm kind of a dork. You guys can stop waving at other MINIs if you want, but watch for a B/W or CR/W (haven't decided yet) waving at you (and accidentally waving at Jeeps) on his way from Portland to Detroit in July and August 2004!

Jeep owners even wave at me in my fj40 landcruiser. I think it's about 50/50 between they actually think it's a jeep, or out of respect for superior machinery. I wave at other mini owners occasionally, I've got one wave back.
