hi all. I'm new to the forum. I've been wanting a Mini for a while. Finally saved up enough money, now just waiting on selling the car I have now.

I missed the December order- my dealer said it's all full. So now I have to wait until Jan. Thing is, if you order a MCS after December 2003, there's a $440 increase in base MSRP. Anyone heard why this only effects the MCS? Doesn't matter to me though- I'm still going to order it. Just curious.

BTW- I traveled to Mini of Towson, MD- 2 hours from Reston Virginia. They are the best!

lk- Check classic mini, they have a variety of cars in stock (including well optioned MCS's!). You could avoid the price hike that way...

Off topic, I think this raise might have to do with the U.S. dollar becoming more like the "Useless" dollar in terms of exchange rates... Oh yeah, BMW wants more profits too!

Here's a guess on why the price increase only on the MCS. The demand is greater for the available supply on the MCS vs the MC. In other words, they are raising the price of the MCS because they can.

Are you sure the dealer was rude because you are a woman? I'm a man and I've been to rude car dealers also, especially the after the sale treatment.

Good luck and don't let any of the dealers try to charge you more than MSRP or make you pay for a bunch of high profit useless stuff they want to put on your car.

It seems like costs of everything goes up almost on a daily basis. Look at medical insurance. Yes, another $440. is a bummer but, its still worth the $$$. My 04 mcs went up over the cost of the 03 and, I could have gotten an 03 at that time. Wanted to wait for the 04's and glad I did. Many of the problems with the 02's & 03's have been solved (except yo-yo) in the o4's. When your new Mini shows up, that $440.00 will be the last thing on your mind.

MINIUSA.COM still shows the MCS as $19,999 base price. Are you sure it's not because the color you are looking at is Metallic and hence $400 more??

As far as I know they only went up $40 each... I agree, the $400 you hear is prolly from metallic paint. Give Classic a call... 440-266-6700 and ask Julie.

Right on Sarcux, and all of you who recommend Classic MINI and Julie. We just completed a California Group Purchase at Classic and took delivery of 7 MCS's on November 8th in Santa Clara, CA including two with JCW Kits. Now my mother-in-law wants one, and so we've just ordered a 3rd from Julie!

I'm trying to arrange group transportation to California again through Concours Transport Systems. We already have two for the truck in January. Anyone else on the West Coast (or points east) interested in joining in? The More the Cheaper! And we're talking an enclosed transporter since it's winter!

Reply, PM, or email me at carolla@scu.edu

another vote here for Julie at Classic. I'm ordering mine today, and it should be taking the Charlie express to Washington in January. There aren't many slots open in Classics Dec order, so do it now if you want to get in.

fyi I was going to go with Jerry at Hamptons, but Julie seemed much more interested in helping me out, and the 20% off accessories isn't a bad deal

Actually according to a dealer memo all 2004 MCS' starting with Jan 01 builds are being increased $450. It has nothing to do with the paint or any other options. Simply a price increase.

Don't worry though, still the most smiles per dollar!

Indeed there was an increase on the MCS Model

Scroll down a little

My son and I actualy made a deposit in October this year for 2 MC`S for production in June 04 for July Delivery. The Ladys of Lauderdale Mini treated me just fine and held the price to 03 MSRP .

Sure is a long wait though ,good job theres plenty of support on these Forums.
