Today I stopped to top off the MCS with some fuel. I pulled in next to a guy driving one of those big Ford SUV,s. His pump was running when I pulled in.

As I was standing there waiting for my pump to shut off, this guy asks...How many clowns can fit into that car?...Then he laughs.

I replied, I knew for sure that four clowns plus their clown shoes could fit with no problem.

I finished the fueling and as I pulled out, I asked the guy....For the love of Pete, how much gas does that beast hold??? He kinda smirked and looked away... I just laughed and drove out.

His gas pump was still running as I pulled out!!!

I would have said "Well if you want to get it I'd at least know one clown would fit."

Yep, I think I read along time ago, way before I got my MINI that other members here at NAM had people make fun of their MINI's by calling the car a clown car.

I never knew if anyone would pop off and say anything like that to me, but this guy did say it, and I figured he was just trying to see if he could make me angry, but it didn't work.

It's all about attitude. All of the above posts are great lines, but I just thought this dude was not going to get me mad or upset over his stupid remark about the MINI.

So that's why I came back with the four clowns and thier shoes. I think it kinda took him back a bit when I said what I said.

How about two 6 foot 7 inch clowns and their balloons and animals in the boot.

The SUV holds alot of gas because it gets one third as good gas mileage and just for fun, is a bear to parallel park!

D.J. - You couldn't be more right! I do think I may have been tempted to tell him how much I admired his big manly SUV and ask him if it had helped him overcome any inadequacies. This would, of course, be said with a big smile.
