R50/53 Never need a Wire Harness
Argh, total frustration! I'll be out of my MINI for another month (it was wrecked and is in the shop) while the car shop gets a wire harness for it from germany. I'm glad they're using quality parts and that they're gettng it done right and not half-***. Still, frustrations galore. As a humourous side note, while gettting my mini fixed, someobody hit my rental car..... hows that for funny. I can tell you that after driving the rental Kia with the cvt autostick like the mini (4-speed tho) I am begging for the MINI back.

At least it sounds like they are taking their time and getting proper parts and not doing a hack job on it. Good work does take time, and it's better to replace a damaged wiring harness instead of repairing and splicing it back together. That worked on cars 20 years ago, but now the wiring is far more involved and specialized.
Hope your ride ends up as good as new.
