I have an 04 MCS and the top bulb on both tail lights doesn't work. I've checked the bulbs and their both fine. When the headlights are on the bottom of the three lights is on. The turn signals (middle light) work fine as well. Can anyone suggest a possible solution or a way to diagnose this problem? Thanks in advance for the help.

 

The top bulbs are for the rear fog lights and have to be programed by the dealer. However, if you do a search for 1st gen.tail light Mod., you can make the top bulb work with the lower stop light very easy--- I did mine!

 

I just got done reading about that on another forum. Thanks for the info, I will chech that out. I hate it when something doesn't work on my car! Lol

 

I did a search for 1st Gen. Tail light mod. And came up with nothing. Do you have any more leads? Thanks

Or if you want, you can just switch wires 1 and 4. The fogs will now be the brake lights and the lower will be just the running lights.

Thanks for all the help! I'm going to try this after work today, I'll let you know how it turns out.

 

I tested it with a paper clip bridging 1-4 and it worked great. I'm going to install a jumper wire on both later. Thanks again!
