ok so i went through the first 2 pages TL:DR lol

but i have not seen much as far as mayeb installing a chip or getting a tune.

is there a specific tune that is best for the car with minimal mods? i am really just looking to get an intake, 15% pulley, and possibly exhaust - and of course getting a chip or tune.

looking for just a quick easy power increase to make the care a little better.

also is there a site for mini that is just specifically for minis? kinda like bahnbrenner.com is to volkswagens and dinan is to BMW.

It's right on the first page of this sticky thread. I reset my ECU last night on an 03 MCS. Car seems to be running a bit smoother now.

hi Shorty Du op,

I looked at the links you posted and I couldn't find a link on a tuning chip. What tuning chips do your recommend? I've found a few on NAM but I'm still undecided.

New mini owner

This might be a really stupid question, but I am just getting into working on my car and just bought an 05 mini cooper s. Could not be more happy with my buy, great car, blast to drive, fun to watch peoples face when I blow past them. I have done a few things supercharger reduction, lowered, exhaust, air intake. My question what makes a car a R53. I have noticed a few different R's being used on here and cant really figure out how to know what mine is. Once again I am pretty new to working on cars and this forum thing. Thanks

Anyone come across a good "how-to remove exterior door handles" I skimmed this and didn't see anything (may have missed it). I've been in the door many times for door lock actuator, dynamatting, and speaker install but don't recall seeing much of the handle hardware. Wanting to paint them body color. Thanks.

When I did mine, I just used painters tape and took my time putting it around the door handles, then used newspaper and masked off at least 2 feet in all directions to catch overspray. cleaned the metal with alcohol and after it was dry a few light coats of black plastidip paint. looks professional and with the plastidip you can peel it off any time you want.

No the R56 front facia will not fit the R53. The chassis are different as is the supporting fascia support (which is actually the "bumper").

The R56 is wider and has different attachment points and the the bonnet between the two models opens in an entirely different fashion.

As for modification to still go about the pointless exercise of trying to fit a later fascia on to an older car. I suppose if you through enough money and time you could bu why?

Just find a GP front and rear fascia, or an areo kit (if you can) and of course there are aftermarket styling kits which will fit over your structure.

might want to remove this link - it sends you to a page that hammers your browser with fake Flash install requests and other nasty stuff:

How to Replace Mini Cooper Cabin Air Filter:
Info and Photos - http://www.geekshocker.com/Claire/maint/cabinFilter.php

the cabin filter video link is out of date, too.
