i'm guessing it looks the exact same as a 02-03 tach but with a lil mph to the left of the current speed...

I have a 2004 MCS. It is a small digtal readout at the bottom center of the tach. It displays MPH or outside temperature. You choose by tapping a small button on top of the turn signal stalk. I love the feature myself!!!

I guess it would be cool. But my MINI has a speedometer the size of a pie plate right on the dash.

Here's a couple pics...crappy but they may show you what you want to see...

Temperature reading:

MPH reading:

There's a button on the headlight/turn signal stalk that allows you to alternate between these two displays.

Hope this helps.

The MPH is just one more option over the 2003s is that correct?

I have:

Temp
Range
Avg MPG
Avg Speed

My 04 does constant MPG as well, so we get two more.

I've had my MCS 11 days and I love the MPH on the digital read out.

It sure makes me a good driver. I know that I am going exactly 33 in that 30 mph zone! and in the school zone I know I'm going 19! On the freeway I know I am going 77, no guessing I am going 75, it says 77 ! and when setting the cruise it shows exactly the mph you have set it to! No guessing! You want to go exactly 65, well you've got it! I love it !

These sound like cool things, but I balance the accuracy of a digital current speed readout with my love of the car partially for its retro nature. Also, when you have a regular old round pointer speedometer you see speed as a fuller visual relationship. Ya ya, that sounds kind of like B.S. but I am serious. For instance, I prefer a regular instead of digital watch because the current time is always changing (sweep hand and slowly moving second hand) and it is laid out in relation to past and future. It reflects time much more wholistically.

Okay, so this probably does sound weird. But it is my weirdness and I am sticking to it. Congrats to those with 04s with new extras.
