R50/53 NEED HELP! Fuel Filter Change Issues
Make sure the fuel pump relay was put back on of you removed it. Also, double check for any wires that might not have been connected back. Sometimes it's things like this that are overlooked and will cause you a lot of frustration and time.
I went over it again. Everything seems to be connected.

You think? I guess in the morning I need to figure out how to put gas in my tank. Five trips to the gas station. I hope your right.
My tank was near empty when I changed my fuel filter. The car didn't start the first time, but then it cranked and was fine. Took about 2 weeks for the smell of gas to dissipate. It had sprayed all over the seat area when I did the job.
I take it you are not smelling any fuel so the line must be attached properly. And I am trusting that you double and triple checked your work.
Maybe you have another issue....did you disconnect the battery before doing the filter change... ?
Check for a blown fuse(s)...fuel pump ect.

BTW: You have to re-pressurize the fuel system after this filter change.
Turn the ignition key to position 2 w/o starting the engine, then to off again. Do this about 5-8 times.

I did the key positioning thing too.
couuld be while disconnecting and reconnecting the system a fuse was blown.
Gas cap on tite???
Be sure your gas cap is on nice and tight. If it is try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minuites and reconnecting. Most of the time this will reset your computer.

????????? What ?????
Exactly what component in the fuel system prevented the starting of the car due to only having 1/4 tank ?
Sounds more like not enough fuel pressure in the system before attempting to start....instead of not having a full tank.
