Drivers door not locking

Ok, my drivers door will not lock nor unlock when using the remote or the intr switch. Passenger side has no problems. It will not let me push the lock button on the door down while the door is open (but can do it when the door is closed). It sucks having my passngr lock it for me after closing my door... or even worse, having to walk around to the other side of the car, reach over and lock/unlock it myself.

Sounds like the actuator may be burned out.

Yep, actuator. Mine does almost the same, it locks with the remote but that is it. I have to turn the key to unlock it. I'm surely not going to pay a dealership $400 to replace it, but I'm not sure that if I got a new $80 actuator that I could install it and line up all the cables like they should go.

Have you not thought about actually using the key in the lock to lock/unlock your car? Walking around to push the lock seems pretty redundant to me.

More than likely your lock actuator is faulty. What happens is that one of the two electric motors inside the lock burn out. Do a search to find out how to R&R the actuator, it is not very fun.

Door lock actuator, for sure...

see here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...roblems-6.html

Do not worry about installing one yourself, it is super easy.
