I have an 03 MC with about 114k miles. For a few days when I depressed the clutch it had a squeaking noise. Now it squeaks all the time and I cannot get it into any gear. It is at the dealer now - I am assuming it needs a new clutch/flywheel. My question is - do I replace it with an OEM clutch/flywheel or go with an aftermarket setup? To go with an aftermarket I suppose I'll have to take it to an independent mechanic.

If I go with OEM at the dealer how much should I expect to pay? Parts/labor?

If I go with aftermarket at an independent shop how much should I pay? Parts/labor?

Any guidance is appreciated. Either way, I can't wait to get it back on the road!

 

OEM dealer, you can expect to pay a lot. You'd end up paying more for a OEM clutch/flywheel at the dealership than a aftermarket sports clutch/flywheel that can perform better.

Independent ship, parts and labor your looking at about 800 to 1000 for labor and up to 800 for parts. The dealership will likely charge you twice that amount.
