Sold My MINI! later on NAM

Well Everyone, It sure has been a journey for me and my mini. I started having starting issues and Air Conditioning quit working and my clutch was on its last leg so i thought it was a good time to sell. I got offered 14k. at a dealership and took the plunge on a 2009 Dodge Nitro RT. Fully Loaded with the 4x4. They actually are good looking and great performing vehicles but I am going through depression over getting rid of the MINI S.
This Forum is full of the most polite, informative, and down right funniest people I have ever met online. I am not here to say good bye for ever but just thought you all should know.
Thanks and Motor ON!
Justin

That makes me sad. :(
Sorry to hear you decided to sell and not repurchase another Mini, but it happens.

I hope your dodge treats you well! Have a picture of it?

Man, I want to know what dealership offered you $14k on a 2002! A dealership contacted me a week or two ago and offered me $11-12k on a 2005 S Cabrio! Maybe it was because I had no plans to buy anything else.

Have a good time with your new ride! Probably not such a fun forum for Dodge... although I can't swear to it... never been. Although they DID have those smiling little Neons at one time.

i was wondering how good of a deal you got on the nitro? I heard about a dealer that was closing putting up some SERIOUS discounts on them. seems like the right time.

And there you have the difference. The price of 14K included money taken off the sticker price of the Dodge. If you want to know how much his car is really worth then you would do what you did, take it to a dealer when you arent buying a car. In fact, I highly recommend that everyone who is trading in a car do the same thing. Take your car to another dealer and tell them you want to sell it and ask how much they will give. This will give you a ballpark figure of what your vehicle is worth. When you take it to the dealer you are actually buying a car from the difference between what they offer you and what the straight selling price is what they are knocking off the price of the new car.

You got a great offer but I hope they didn't rob you on the Nitro?

You always get the best deal when you demonstrate you are willing to walk out the door. Car dealers know that once you leave the overwhelming chances are that you will not be back.

Hey MINIPOOper2: Sometimes we have to do what is best for us at the time. I dream about my car some nights. I have dreams that I lost it too. You are probably young and you will have years of different cars so no worries there. Good luck to you. -Stacy

Sorry to see an EB MINI part ways with NAM, but you can still wave at us, right? Happy motoring in the Nitro...

Sorry to see you go. NAM has changed so much in the past few years. Not many of us 1st. Gen OG's from the forum left.

Just because you bought a different make of car. Doesn't mean you can still drop in once in awhile.

I no longer on a Mini, yet I still drop in from time to time.

Good luck with your new car! I've tossed around the idea of trading my R50 in for a GTI or an RX-8 or something a little down the road, but I would hate to leave this friendly community and my stellar dealership.

I just got $22,900 for my '11 I had for exactly 5 months. I still owed $26,684.00 so I was out of there for about $5k. After 4 MINIs, I'm free!!! Absolutely loved all 4 and never ever had any problems with any of them. My problem was with MINI USA and the dealer network. I have no desire to influence anyone in any way about MINI but my personal experience with MINI USA/dealers pushed me out. Now, I have no community and no cool little car/little buddy. I guess I will go back to classic VW bugs...
