R50/53 OMG!!! My new mods!
DTBPV
For those that are new to it, the DTBPV started long ago as a stiffer spring you got and added into the valve yourself. The effect is that the valve closes with more vacuum (sooner), the transition is more abrupt, and the valve doesn't open as far as the stocker.
There are those that love it, and those that don't. It's not a universal cure or must have mod, more of a part that appeals to some and not to others.
For those who want to know the whole story, start here, the Yo-Yo Chronicles, one of the all time great threads on nam....

It's a personal thing...
first, the BPV goes from the exit horn after the IC to the black plastic tube that goes from the throttle body to the supercharger inlet. So it doesn't replace the TB, it just is a swap out of the stock BPV to the worked over one.
As far as the value on the 06, try it and see! The engine is the same, mostly the differences are between the early valve design tolarences, the ECU software and not so much the year of the engine. Since it's a very popular part, if it's not to your liking, it will always move in the Marketplace with very little financial hit. If you liked it before, you'll probably like it again. Also, talk to Chad at DT. He's a good guy and will let you know about his experience in this area, and he's seen a lot more of these than me!

You do have to lift the motor, but its really not as bad as it sounds, and seriously is the best mod you can do. You just un hook the engine mounts and put a jack underneath the car and lift it up, the mount may require you to jiggle the engine as it comes out but it is really straight forward. I would advise however that if you are interested in a crank pulley reduction figure out if you want it or not before you do this because they are done the same way and if you want them both do em at the same time. Let me know if there are any more questions.
Jim...
the best hints and tricks I can give is when the IC is off, and it's a total PITA to pull the horn over the studs, is to use two of the nuts to do a locknut trick and then take the studs out of the intake manifold. Then the exit horn comes out easy. Get some bolts (at least two) for putting it back together (I used loc-tite red once to "make" bolts, but it's a bit hack).
Have an extra (about 2" diamter, I think) hoseclamp cause you won't want to use the factory one.... Use some KY or a bit of detergent to get the new valve into the rubber hose, you don't want to force that one too much as a few people have cracked the SC intake tube, that's a bummer for sure....
To be honest, it's a royal pain the first time, but gets easy with a few iterations (I didn't like the stiff spring and took it all apart and modded the stock spring, that and some other service events and I've done the BPV a few times, no big deal now).
Anyway, like all new tasks, just take it slow and don't force anything.....

Ya my advice for the bpv is to get some small hands, connecting the piping to the bpv is a pain. Not like hard or anything i just have very wide hands and took me a while to get it all situated and stuff, or maybe some good small pliers.
