Bumper cover shipping

Looking for some advice on shipping a bumper cover. I cracked mine sliding into a snowbank this winter and thought the best way to replace it without having to deal with paint work and body shops was to find a used one. I have found one but the UPS shipping quote is about $125. Has anyone shipped one and if so how much, which method, etc. Any and all information is appreciated.

The box would be quite large. I've never shipped one but, I don't think that $125 is unreasonable.

I agree, I dont think it is unreasonable either. In fact, I suspect that I will find that is the going price but I thought it wouldn't hurt to poll the audience to see if someone had a brilliant idea that I hadn't thought of. Thanks for the reply.

Try a Greyhound Bus. No kidding, you have to drop off at a terminal and pick up from one. Should be one in most cities. Google is your friend!

So you just hand it to some chump on the bus and tell him to take it to Topsham, Maine and drop it behind the warehouse on the docks?

Yes, Just like handing to some chump at UPS. Fill out the paperwork ( just like at UPS ) it will be placed on the bus and you will be notified to pick it up when it arrives. So why don't you grow up and learn instead of being a smart a$$ ?

Good lord...no kidding!!

$125 is reasonable. I shipped a bumper cover from Las Vegas to Sacramento for about $90. I am shipping another cover to further north in California and it is $115. The bumper is very light, but the box is huge and UPS, Fed Ex, etc. charge by dimensioned weight, not actual weight.

I have heard that Greyhound has excellent prices so that may be worth having the seller check that out for you.
