Here's my odd couple: MINI and MAXI (a 1973 Chrysler Newport). Probably one of the longest production sedans ever sold in the U.S. next to one of the shortest.

I guess it's time for a pic of the MINI and the Z71 Suburban together.

Both British and both built by companies that were acquired by BMW in the mid 90's. The Land Rover though was built before BMW bought the Rover Group which included MINI. Interesting that BMW's plans for Land Rover failed miserably, but the MINI turns out to be quite a nice silver lining for BMW.

Here's mine. I'm the CR/W MCS and the behemoth truck is my neighbor's new Dodge Landmass or whatever they're calling it. All I know is it comes with it's own zipcode and congressional district.

Holy cow....do you need a Class "A" commercial license to drive it? And it's just a guess.....it will not fit in a normal garage?

8.1 liters??!! wow. That beats my Chrysler Newport's 400 cubic inches by over 23%. Another way to look at it: your Silverado's engine is as big as 5 MINIs !

Not so much odd, as unique. My MINI and Dad's Prowler.

Wow. did this post take me down memory road. I once inherited a '73 Newport from my parents. I've never dented up a car before or after driving that bulgemobile. The best one I put in the Newport was a bashed in rear fender from hitting a telephone pole while trying to make a turn in an alley. It makes me appreciative that I now have a CR/W Mini like in the photo.

Gads, so many Mini owners also have big-*** trucks. I thought we knew size doesn't matter. (I also have an '86 Izuzu Rodeo so am allowed to toss that at you all.)

I don't have any pictures to share but I have a 2002 MCS and a 1954 Plymouth Station Wagon. The wagon has a 318 and a push-button Torqueflite trans from a 57 Plymouth. The Plymouth, by the way, was my very first car. It was a Christmas present from my Mom and Dad in 1968.

Here is my two diagonally opposite rides:

'03 MCS and '89 Dodge W250 Cummins Turbo Diesel. Now, if I could only get the latter's tweaked 700 ft-lbs of torque into the former...
