Charlie, I don't understand what you're asking for, what MINI names? Names of dealerships? Nicknames we give our own MINI? Dirty names we call each other in bed?

Please be more specific with your posts, I can't read your mind

Charlie,

You're about a clear as mud. Are you looking for actual vehicle model designations based upon the Mini design, such as: MG 1300, or Auntie Flo's pet name of "Gerbil" that she gave to her beige 1962 Morris Mini Minor?

Actually, I believe that Auntie Flo's beige 1962 Morris Mini Minor was named "Hamster", but I could be mistaken...

8ball,

Don't forget the two MG iterations of Sir Alex's noble steed.

MG 1100
MG 1300

Badge engineering at its best.

... I don't really count the 1100/1300/America - it was a whole different car - the "big brother" with the same engine ...

i did forget :
Innocenti 1300
Mini Clubman 1275GT

8ball,

You are correct, the 1100 series used a different body, but with Mini drivetrain, suspension, etc.

see below:

The Morris 1100 took the original Mini design concept another stage further, it made its debut in 1962, one year before the near identical Austin version. The 1100 had an all new body shell with a transverse mounted 1098cc A-series engine driving the front wheels (as in the Mini). The suspension made use of Alex Moulton's Hydralastic design also used on the Mini and BMC 1800 range.

Initially the 1100 came only as a 4 door saloon, however this was quickly joined by a 2 door and a 2 door estate car known as the "Traveller". In 1967 a MKII 1100 was announced which introduced a new front grille, rear wings, rear lamps and revised trim. As would be expected Morris 1100's retained a few features to distinguish it from the Austin versions such as a different facia panel and minor trim variations.

The 1100 range quickly became Britains No1 seller and so consequently need little development during its lifetime, it remained in production alongside the larger engined 1300 versions and was eventually discontinued in 1971.

The MG 1100 used the usual BMC 1100 bodyshell, this time featuring an enlarged MG grille which dwarfed the front grilles on all other 1100 saloons !. Mechanically the MG 1100 used the same set-up as the rest of the range, it did however share the twin carbs and three branch manifold with its sporting sister model, the Riley (1100) Kestrel. The twin carb MG 1100 produced a sprightly 55bhp, enough power to turn this small car into an entertaining sports saloon

Yes, they were really close (as was the Mini Metro series) but after owning a few (MG 1100, Austin America, Austin 1100 Countryman Automatic) , I just can't say they were Mini's ...
.. that's kinda like saying a Ford F150 and a Lincoln Towncar are the same 'cause they have the same big V8, or that the MINI and the 3-series are the same 'cause they have the same rear suspension ... or stretching the family thing and saying the Austin Maxi landcrab was a Mini ...

But are we also gonna count the kit cars like the Mini-Marcos and the Ogle GT on the List?
