2 Aero or Not 2 Aero That Is The Question

I happend to be in the right place and right time doing a favor for a fellow MINI friend, and came across a full JCW Aero Kit lightly used and pre-painted DS with original badging in the lower grille. The mesh upper grille surround is painted DS as well.

I paid cash for the kit, plus I have to hand over my old side skirts and front bumper facia and slotted grille, all are in Exc cond. He needs them for his project MINI he is putting back together and for some reason doesnt want the Aero kit.

So my dilema is this............

I sorta like my 2003 DS painted slotted grille that I would have to hand over in the swap, instead of the black mesh one he has from the kit.

Has anyone here kept their original slotted upper grill when attaching the Aero kit, or is that considered by NAMR's to Be Faux pas ?

If not, I would truely appreciate some pics of your MINI to see what a slotted grille looks like with an aero kit.

Thanks, and Motor Safe !

Let me know if you come across a PW Aero package and I'll tell you my answer.

AERO!!! havent seen one with the slotted grill but i imagine it would look kinda funny. Plus it would take some modding to get the slotted lower grill to fit in the aero bumper. AERO THAT ****!!

I could find only one pic in last few hours of searching.....Muggy's DS MCS. I was just thinking it would look more like a black forrest car if I did it this way,

Maybe I will just paint the upper and mid mesh Aero grills body color like the grill surround is now instead......

Thanks.

Those look wrong!! Aero bumpers need Aero grilles.

I quite like this. This is how I would like to have mine done when I can finally afford an Aero Kit.

My dilemma was that I did not want the black grilles, as I don't want to get rid of the chrome and DS look. I do think that this example does need the areas around the fogs blacked out though...
