Speedo self test/airbags

I just bought a 2002 r50 and I love it but Im having a couple of problems. I see if I push the reset button on the speedo before I turn the key it goes into a self test mode. Where can I find info on how to read this. I am specifically looking for info on an idle that drops and recovers every minute or so and my air bag warning light is on. Any DIY info would be appreciated. I tried the search but failed maybe Im not using it correctly. Thanks. mcfreeak

airbag light has to be reset by the GT1 at the dealer (or you could buy a setup for about 3k)
I'm not certain about reading the test screen though. I noly use it to reset the oil interval

If your airbad light is on, it may be from a faulty wiring harness. Many of the first gen. MINIs had/have this problem. The wiring harness is under an extended warranty. It can be replaced at a dealership for free, up to 150,000 miles.
