Well I just ran it through Edmunds.com, and on trade-in you'd get around $10k. If you sold it yourself, around $12k.

Are you happy with your car? I mean if it's just because "other people" are making you think you need something, I'd put more consideration into whether or not I enjoy my car, etc.

I have a MC and I have lots of friends with MCSes and my MC is still just fine for me

+1

If your friends are so unhappy with your choice, tell them to buy you an MCS.

That's a well equipped Mini! Good luck with your decision!

If you do decide to sell it, you need to put emphasis on the low miles.

That is super low mileage.

On the plus side, with an MCS, you'd get a proper manual - a Getrag no less, not a time bomb Midlands like the manual MC.

+1 on the Midlands. Mine went bad in my 03 MC. On the plus side it was reason enough to warrant the new MCS.

I personally think you should cruise around in your MC for at least a few years. I won't lie, I'm much happier with my MCS... BUT I think I appreciate it a lot more after having driven around an MC for 5+ years.

Since you've gotten pulled over twice (edited for clarity) in 2 weeks with your Cooper:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...663-post1.html

then perhaps it might be wise to hold off on the MCS that might make you prone to getting even more moving violations.

As for what your car is worth: Whatever someone is willing to pay you for it. Take a trip to the dealer or Carmax and they can give you a written estimate for a trade-in. You can likely expect to get hosed, though, considering you just bought the car. You'll be upside down on your loan (if you financed it), and the trade in value will be far less than what your purchase price was. Your best bet is to sell it privately if you really want to get rid of it and get the most money for it. Good luck with your decision.

That's not necessarily true (although it is very likely if you JUST bought it). Although, you will almost always get more out of your car if you do a private sale. Go plug it into Kelly Blue Book's website, that will give you the best idea.

If you do go through with it, and you're planning on going to the dealership... definitely get a quote from Carmax first so you have some bargaining ammo. Again, I think you should wait a year or two. Trust me... it'll be worth the wait.

KBB's values are usually far higher than what is actually paid.

Maybe it's a Cali thing. My trade in value on my last MINI was spot on with KBB. But I do know that value shifts from location to location.

Anytime a car is bought and sold within any time frame, the value of a car depreciates and you would end up selling it for less than you pay for, in return putting you into more debt/ a loss-loss situation. If money isn't a obstacle for you, than go ahead. The CVT transmission on Coopers have been known to go bad randomly. Even upgrading to a MINI Cooper manual is a good option. But it's something you'd have to consider and weigh in with your own agenda.
