They arent ugly, I guess people think they are too hard too clean. Xanthus and a couple others on here whos names escape me have black MINIs.

Did you say you want a red and black interior? If you live in the US, which Im assuming since this is mostly a US forum, then it's not possible from the factory. It'd probably look good though.

You tell me if this is ugly
More likely it's because you have a little more work involved in keeping it clean. But when it's clean it can't be beat. Go ahead...give in to the dark side......

There are lots of black MINIs! They're pretty hot! But as with any black car, tough to keep looking super.

Look around the site, you'll see plenty of them.

Try cordoba beige if you can't get the red/black interior. That would look awesome!

I love my jet black/jet black MINI with chrome mirror caps and other assorted chrome effects -- just not TOO MUCH chrome -- then it gets tacky. But black is a classy colour... and I'll concur with the other owners of black MINIs -- they are a biatch to keep clean! Everything shows up...every little speck of dirt, every water spot, every scratch... I wash and Zaino (polish) my MINI every Saturday... don't know what I'll do in the winter here in Jersey...I'm NOT taking it to an automated car wash, that's for sure.

But yea, get a black MINI...it's a labor of love.

Welcome to MCO!

It's true! Black's a labor of love...and you do need to clean, clean, clean. Not too much snow in Vancouver, if I remember, so it's just rain you have to worry about. I love my all-black MCS, and I know there are many more on the site who agree (Clo? Are you out there?)

If you are serious about red & black seats, go for it! Order cloth from the factory, and have an upholstry company near you do a custom job for about the same money you would have spent on the factory leather (sometimes less). Red & black would look hot!

In my area there are many black MC and MCS. Our dealer orders them regularly. some with silver, white or even chrome wheels. Interior color usually black.

Nothing wrong with black. Great looks, choice of metallic or not. Goes good with everything.

However, for those who just can't seem to keep their cars clean, black will show waterspots, dirt and scratches but so does my Indy blue.

I say- bring on the black. It's a power color.

I've got a Cosmos Black with Tartan Red Cooper and there is another (jet black with white top) in my neighborhood; We also had several blacks show up at a NW meet ... so we are around here and there!

I ordered a jet black/black cooper, mostly because it was the only no-charge color i liked. And yes, it was difficult to find any pictures of any mini in that combination, and then mostly Ss.

all-black is rather popular. Not as popular as EB/W or IB, but probably next in line, or after CR. Plenty in AutoTrader.

I finally saw one in person and it looks GREAT. I loved it. There are a couple regular Coopers in all-black at the local dealerships too. Plenty of people willing to put in the extra work to keep it clean.

While we are on this topic...

With an all black Mini, elements of chrome on the exterior look way cool, especially when you concider the alternative is plastic that will no doubt have bits of car wax in them without the chrome bit...

I think they're the hottest looking MINIs... even with a bit of dirt on them. They must be a ***** to clean though because there only 3 of us in the "I Can't Wait for October" waiting for our Black MINIs. I must say that I was really torn about color choice when I ordered mine. I like the silvers and the green.

All of my friends kept telling me that I was insane to order a black car until I showed them some pics online of all the black beauties. They're all singing a different tune now. Some have even offered to help me clean her on weekends. Hopefully, it won't be every weekend...I live in So. Calif, so weather is not a real factor!

Do any of you with Black MINIs have any cleaning tips? or special tricks to keeping her shined all the time?

- Jet

I debated on the color thing and finally went for black, white roof, and I swapped out the Cooper gas cap for the S style as well as the side grill covers. The black and chrome look is distinguished, classic. Makes you think of older cars before all the plastic. It gets dirty but the metallic has a dusty look anyway, and I can't imagine it's much worse than BRG. Worst part is the way the boot gathers dust, but it seems like everyone gets that.

Bird,
you are correct, The BRG shows alot of dust!
I'm not sure which one looks worst when dirty
my BRG "S" or the Black "Cooper"
Actually it's the BRG, it shows stuff, looks like "poop"
But then again not sure how many of you have to deal with dirt roads.
The summer is a killer here in north Florida.
It gets so hot and Humid, that you actually Fart Dust

I want another MINI

I have a Black on black MCS on order. It comes in near the end of October. I definetly think it is the best color for a car, especially when clean. I will post some pictures when I get it.
