All this waiting is making me waffle.

I've ordered an electric blue s with the premium package. The day I sent in my deposit, I decided the s-lite wheels were pretty cool looking, so I added them to my order.

Then a couple of nights ago, I started thinking, "do I really want blue"? I mean, my last two cars were red. It's a great color and I once swore that every car I owned this side of the big dirt nap would be red. But then I saw the electric blue and thought it looked great, sorta like the silver blue Chevy offered in the early sixties. I told my wife this and she, "just get the blue, and leave me out of your mini obsesssion"! So, I'm getting blue.... I think.

And then, I started to think that maybe the 17" wheels were a bit much on such a small car, and it seems like every s I see in the members gallery has them, and some guy said the 16"s handle better and the tires are cheaper to replace. So maybe I should get the 16's then go for aftermarket rims at a later date. But heck, that'll probably never happen...... and on and on and on.

Anybody else driving themselves crazy with stupid questions like these? Or am I just Alladin Sane?

Ok, here's my latest dream combo.

Looks like the mini2 people don't appreciate silly yanks like me ripping of their pics.
No wonder we had that revolution a while back. (right click on the obnoxious message, hit properties, copy the url and paste into your address bar if you want to see what the limeys are hiding from you) It's eb/b

I decided to change to the black top for two reasons.
1. It seems like everybody has the white top. (not one eb/b in the mco gallery)
2. It matches very nicely with the black fender flares, rocker panels, roof posts, etc.

I also decided to get the lapis blue leather. It looks fantastic! But to pay for it, I'm dropping the s-lite wheels in favor of the v-spokes, (once again, everybody seems to have the s-lites) and I'm going for just the sunroof instead of the whole premium pkg. I really think I can live without auto climate control, cruise control and the steering wheel nipples underneath.

So, what do you think?

I removed the other photo in place of a EB/B combo we have in our gallery.

I know what you mean. I decided right off that I wanted the BRG. I also Decided that I wanted an S. Then I kept seeing the Indi Blue, and almost went mad at the thought of that on an S. THEN I saw the Velvet Red Cooper. Of course, i REALLY want Dark Metalic Purple.

THEN came the Stripe issue. First it was YES, STRIPES! Then, No, they look funny with the hood scoop, then oh, I'll do aftermarket viper stripes, then, no, they look kinda funny with the hood scoop, too. So now I have a car coming with no stripes... I think I'll have the dealer put them on, though.

And of course there was the Winter package? I dno't need that... but for only $300? yeah, maybe not having my mirrors and washer jets freeze up in the winter, and a toast bum would be worth it, and I need xenons for the rabid deer vampires in the woods... yada yada yada...

About the wheels.. I personaly just don't like the design of the 17". I REALLY like the stock S 16" wheels, and convinced myself that I'd rather have more rubber for the rough roads. Fortunately, I changed my mind about the WHITE wheels. I think that would have, over time, beena bad idea.

so there

When I first saw the new MINI, which was at the MINIUSA website, I was definitely going to get a Liquid Yellow/Black MCS, because the personalized plate on my Trooper is "CLOVER B"...THEN when I saw the British Racing Green online, I thought, hmmmmm, that would be lovely with the cordoba leather, and I preferred the MINI Cooper's bonnet, and liked the 5-speed for my mostly in-town gridlock L.A. driving! Then we rented an Indi Blue/White Cooper for an extended test-drive and that was really great, too! Soooooo, what did I end up picking? Pure Silver Cooper with body color roof and panther black profile leather interior! I ordered the personalized plate, "MINI CLO," of course!

One more question on this topic.

If I do decide to make changes, what's the last minute before production that I have to get them in?

You're definately not alone. I'm waffling on the color and options as well. Currently a MCS in black w/white roof but thinking of the BRG w/white roof. Then there is the all important to stripe or not to stripe?!? Should I wait for the HK system??!! Heck, my delivery date isn't til Jan/Feb so maybe I should.....but what if somebody backs out early and I can get mine snuck in for a date before 12/02?!!? Blue Lapis or just straight Black!!?? Also kinda thinkin bout the cold weather package....extra pair of underwear should suffice but my brother thinks its an absolute necessity in the NE! URGHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Choices, choices....I'll probably need a shrink before all this is done! Still, I can't wait til I get my confused and grubby hands on my new MCS!!

With my car (delivered 20 Sept (6 days and counting!!)) on the system it was 'spec amendable' until about four weeks bofore production. A week later the system said 'spec amendable - production may slip', followed by blank about ten days before production.

I guess it's the same for all?

I changed my spec 8/9 times, can anyone better that?

I'm really starting to think seriously about changing my color. Anybody got a picture of a red s with red top, no stripes and the v-spokes?

I'm so glad to hear you all talking about this. I just put in an order for my new MINI this afternoon, and I'm already contemplating the things I SHOULD have done...

I bow to all Cooper S owners but I just didn't need the extra power and didn't like the hood scoop or spoiler.
My Indi Blue Cooper, "Ringo", arrived in late August. I got the sunroof and the black top and mirrors look great with that. With the dark Indi blue metallic, it is a beautiful combination. The Gray/Black interior with sport seats is the perfect match between what I want/need and cost. I also wanted as understated an appearance as possible so I passed on the chrome bumper inserts.
