Rear facing car seat... where do I put the

We are trying to install our Britax carseat into my '06 Mini. It needs to be rear facing and we can't find anywhere to put the front tether. On my husband's Maxima we put the tether around the bottom of the chair frame and it worked perfect, but we can't figure it out for the Mini. I called my service advisor and she had no idea how to do it. I can't drive my car right now until we get this figured out and it is making me really sad. I know that some of you have BTDT, after all all babies have to be in a rear facing until 12 months and 20 lbs. so there has got to be a way.
Many thanks!

M

I did a lot of research early on. Are you or your husband tall? If so then its not going to be comfortable. There is just not much room and the front seats have to be put really far forward. For installing I think most people roll up some towels to put under the back of the car seat to level it out. Then you could install the base with the ISO clips?

We are expecting as well (triplets ). The mini will be our 3rd car and what I drive by myself. No more fun drives together.

Call Britax's customer service number...or visit their website...surely they should have info for various vehicle makes/models so they can answer questions from prospective owners.

Good luck!

Use the "D ring" that came with the seat and attach it to the bar that the front seat belts are fastened to on the rocker panel near the rear floor boards. It may pull the seat a little to one side but if you put all your weight on the seat, you should be able to tighten the latch straps up so the seat will only have a slight lean or none at all. I have 2 Britix seats that go into my Mini from time to time, they are a tight fit and yes a tall driver or passenger will have some problems fitting into the vehicle with the seats installed. If you do not have the "D ring" I would contact Britix for a replacement one.
