ACTLSIZ License plate REJECTED!!

I applied for a specialty plate for my 06 MCS and it was rejected here in Georgia. ACTLSIZ was available so I paid my money and went home. I found out today it went before a committee who rejected it. What a bunch of numb nuts!! What the heck is wrong with that. Its kind of a Cooper slogan for Gods sake. They said I will be getting a letter stating that Ive been rejected. I sure hope I get some kind of appeal to let those people know it is for a Mini Cooper! I wonder if they ever even looked at what car the plate was for. Sounds like now I have to start all over again. There goes $25 down the drain!

Makes you wonder what in the heck those good ol' boys thought it meant.

Some neo-**** committee member likely dreamed up some objectionable association because no one could figure it out, and the other clueless members just went along with it...

Reason 143 not to move to Georgia.

Don't ask about the other 142. I'd hate to start a flame war.

And yeah, that sucks, as does that committee.

If they ever tell you what they think it means please tell us. I think they look for certain letter combinations but I see nothing.

I think the other 142 reasons might be individual drivers in and around Atlanta.

Sucks that they rejected that plate. Was HLF PNT or HLFPINT taken? That's a bit harder to misinterpret, you're either talking about being small or drinking.

And yet really blatant plates go by.

Saw a pic of a Mercedes with a CA plate that said BUKKAKE. The DMV hasn't got a clue. Look it up, I can't print it here.

Thats amazing considering I've seen RUNSTY2 and GDOLBOY both here in Ga.

You shouldnt loose your cash, the form allows you to pick up to 6 plates.

When I first saw the thread title I immediately thought Auschwitz.

It was only after looking again I saw Actual Size.

Can you put a space between actl and siz? What about actlsz or actl sz?

NJ let mine through so that is pretty dumb of GA. I would understand a rejection of mine far more than ACTLSIZ.

The Smoking Gun website has a bunch of hilarious letters of complaint to various state DMVs about peoples' vanity plates. Great reading. Visit http://www.thesmokinggun.com and search on "license plates" for the links.

Back in the early 90s, when I was a college student and a fan of the band Phish, I requested California plates reading "PHISH ME". In the explanation, I stated "I am a fan of the band Phish". The DMV clerk was highly suspicious, asked me several times what it really meant, and then told me that they had an extensive dictionary of sexual and profane terms, and that THEY would figure out the true meaning and deny my plate. I got the plates, but I really wonder what she thought I was trying to say there...

Hm....You probably need to look up and PM the NAM-er "Orangecrush." He's in NC, but he seems to have broken the code on getting "suspect" vanity plates passed by DMVs...He has contributed to a couple of the vanity plate threads, and has posted tips. I didn't know it, but evidently each state has to have an appeal method. I would definitely appeal this - especially considering how many other states have issued plates with that exact arrangement.

Ohio wouldn't let me get MINIAC because it was "too derrogatory towards mentally ill people." Um....???? Turns out I'm happier with my configuration, but i was a very unhappy camper back then.

Gnatster, I never suspected that you worked for a DMV censorship board in your state.

Its like that thing were you only see the first and last couple of letters of a word but you can still make it out AC$#IZ - ACTLSIZ...maybe.

Though I too thought WTF?

Did the OP end up on decided for something else? My tag just expired and I'm lucky I didnt see this thread before it was renewed as all I've been thinking of have been new tags for the Mini.

You can fill out up to 6 choices for your plate and if the first one is taken they go to the next choice. Since my first one was available but rejected, I wonder if they will now go to the second choice. Probably not without another $25!

In Illinois, you can check online to see if what you want is available and acceptable.

Hey! I resemble that remark! Oh, that reminds me...I need to get the washing machine out of the yard and move my couch to the front porch!

OP- they will go to the next one and you wont have to pay another $25.

Who the hell would get Bukakke on their license plate? That just wrong...and disgusting.

My friend had it on his STI up in Canada. I think it's kinda funny that it can be allowed when "Actual Size" and "MILF" get rejected.
