My boot was peeing !!?!

My '04 MC had a new "things you didn't know about" experience....I opened the boot after a moderate rain, and then was nice and sunny and when I held the boot open partially ....it commenced to pee!..one long stream onto friend's lap while she was sitting in her wheelchair just next to the car in the parking lot. The stream lasted for a good 45 seconds and came from that small drainage hole at the very bottom of the boot lid near the latch. It definitely was water, and not windshield washer fluid (and not urine). My car (Umberto) was very embarassed and appologized to my friend.

Is this supposed to happen? Has this happened to anyone before?

Well, it doesn't seem like very good manners (except the apology part)...you better have a talk with Umberto...

actually, I was thinking that maybe another drainage opening was clogged someplace and caused a build-up and there was water building up in the boot lid which would not be good...any ideas?

there is one small opening at the bottom of boot lid in center. If that is where the water came out, and did so for like...45 seconds, that would be about 1.5 gallons of water or so ? ? ? Was this hole blocked for some time ?

Not sure how all of this could have come from one rain storm. How long since you last opened the boot ?

First easy check: open boot and pull black 2" rubber plugs on upper right and left side of boot lid. This will expose the nuts holding your rear wing on. Are all 4 secure ? I have seen some MCS wings where only one nut on each side was properly tightened.....

Check inside boot: Remove boot panel with phillips head screw diver, like 5 black screws I think, carefully pull up panel from one side and gently slide hand inside panel edges making your way all the way around releasing the panel from clip holes and set aside. Inspect washer fluid hose connections and rubber gromet surrounding wiper assembly for damage ect.

I cant think of anything else.

Outside of that, your MINI has a huge bladder.

From: Washington. No, the other one.
Check the third brake light. They have a problem with leakage.

This is what the doctor told me when I went in last week. Strange coincidence.
