Help taking off grills on hood

So ive tried searching and came up with nothing, but I need to take the grills off on the hood below the windshield by the windshield wipers. The guy I bought the car used some old wax and its all inside the grills and i need to get it out. any tips on how to remove these grills?

Thanks

gotta be careful which edge you pry on, though. I broke one of mine and had to replace it. There are spring clips on one side, and fixed clips on the other - I don't remember which is which right now, unfortunately...
