R50/53 Awaiting Transport?
>>>>My insurance guy quoted us roughly the same as a Honda Accord. Hope this helps.

>>Ew, that's horrible: the Honda Accord is the #1 most frequently stolen car in the US!!
But, hey there are still a whole lot of 'em left!

Well, true to their word, my little one was given her last transport and arrived at the dealer on Sat. They let me sit in her, turn on the ignition, listen to the radio and run the air-conditioner. I'm a very happy camper and will be taking her home for good tomorrow! I'm glad that I have gotten past the post-ordering stage(5 months) and the post-production stage(1 month) and can now look forward to the 'I've got her and I'm driving her' stage, during which my emotions should return to normal and the fun factor should substantially increase. I wasn't too bad, but when the VDC period of the post-production stage began I started calling twice a day. Control over my life has been returned to me and I'm ready to boogie. Hang in there, fellow motorers.

I feel kinda lucky because I have only waited about 2 months (ordered 7/15) and I am supposed to pickup my MCS 9/17! I too look forward to the post delivery stage...
I have been reading the posts on this site for some time to help me understand how long of a wait I should be expecting at each stage and realized that the wait times really varied. I lucked out at the VDC - it only spent like a day or two there.
Good luck to all of you still waiting (I guess that's me too) - it comes sooner than you think.

My Cooper has also been loaded on a truck and is supposed to arrive at the dealership tomorrow.
Hopefully it does not take too long for the dealer to tint the windows and get everything ready.

My S has changed status from "awaiting transport" to "en-route". It's on the Medea, on its way to California via Maryland and Georgia. It sat in Southampton for less than a week it seems, so I can't complain about that too much. Do I have to wait for it to be trucked to Las Vegas, or can I go to CA and pick it up off the boat? The drive back from CA would be a nice start to the break-in miles.
Congrats to Herby...as of this morning (9/16) my car is still at the VDC and still awaiting whatever it is that they do there...it has been sitting at the VDC for 11 days (count them 11!!)now...should i start to be worried, and 1866ASKMINI and my dealer are being of no help to tell me when i could be seeing it....any ideas?

Congrats, sdbillings. I can't understand how you and docdesi both got to the VDC
before me, but you're on a truck, he's still stuck there after 11 days and I picked
mine up today. No matter what, both of you better get ready to deal with a real
slice of heaven!

Congratulations, Minigirl! 'Giddy' is a great way to describe it. Maybe our shipmate Mini's have transmitted a genetic predisposition for lightheartedness to us..... the owners. And yes, very fun to drive. We're going to have a blast, but let's also
remember to drive safely.

I'd love to hear the response you get to this from ASK MINI
Despite your ability to track the car from production, the car's not your's yet...it still belongs to the dealer. Thus it needs to go to the dealer before you can pick it up directly from BMW. Nice try though.
