R50/53 WHY CAN'T I GET WHAT I WANT FOR MY MINI
I will be ordering my Mini soon. When I spoke to the rep at Mini Manhattan and asked about wide whitewalls for my Mini as well as the wheels that were on the promotion card, he said I can't get them. No. 1 Mini doesn't make whitewalls. I didn't ask that. CAN SOMEONE OUT THERE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET WIDE WHITEWALL RUN FLATS FOR MY MINI?? I'm under the impression a person can order anything for his car and the dealer may have to go to another source to get it, but I'm paying for it. I'm not pleased about this. He tells me I can't get them and another rep told me I could by special order. As far as the wheels on the promotion card (the peel off design you own Mini), I would have to speak to Promotions, as if I knew who they were.
So, if I just get my Mini with the regular 15", is there a place where I can get run flat wide whitewall tires. If my name was Hillary Clinton, I am sure they will get anything to my beck & call. :???:

I don't know if you are serious or not, whitewalls are not usually put on new cars...
Anyway, I don't think anyone makes a whitewall runflat tire. If you are getting a Cooper, not a Cooper S, that's not a problem. Cooper's have spares, Cooper S's do not.
If you really want whitewalls but don't need the runflat, there are several options. I assume when you say whitewalls, you are talking about wide (2" or more) whitewalls, not the little 1/2" strip that many tires offer.
http://www.cokertire.com offers old style white walls in the 2" size. Problem is, most are bias-ply tires, not the best quality.
Hope this helps.

I can only think of the story,or legand, accredited to Thomas Hoving during his presidency of Tiffanys.A man purchased a large and very expensive diamond from Tiffany's and asked them to design a ring for him to wear the diamond in.Hoving refused, stating that"a gentleman doesn't wear a diamond ring".
Tiffany lost the very profitable diamond sale, but retainded their integrity.Perhaps good taste and integity is more important to your Mini dealer than a sale.

mike i agree wtih your point, but in order to get a car dealership franchise or to be a lawyer, ,i am sure you have to check ur integrity at the door

Whitewall Runflats, nah, don't think they make 'em. Nice try though U123546968424455571, And welcome to MCO too. Your best bet is to check with the above mentioned Coker Tire. They used to carry a white wall kit with a ww strip and some adhesive to apply same to your sidewalls. Maybe they still do. Otherwise, you're looking at radial or bias ply tires only. IMO, Get the white rims and call it a day.

Just a reminder that some people might say the same thing about aero kits and chrome mirror caps and liquid yellow paint--all available through MINI, of course. But MINIs whole spiel is that we can make our cars our own so, if they're advertising it, why SHOULDN'T we be able to get it?
Good luck finding the whitewals, U. I was just talking about how cool I thought they'd look the other night...

Funny, I thought the same thing. If I had enough money (because I wouldn't do it to my daily driver!), I'd like to buy a pepper white cooper with silver steel rims, chrome hubcaps and whitewalls. Not "bling bling" just retro.

u2597 – Welcome to MCO
I’m not aware of anyone who makes wide whitewall run flats. Have you tried at the sources to find if anyone makes them? You can get whitewall tires, so just have the dealer put standard whitewalls on your MINI. Or get the run flats and get other tires after you pick the car up – many people change tires right away.

I've found that the best Personalizations are what we buy AFTER we pick up the car from the dealer! Add that General Lee, the special tires or anything you want! The dealer may or may not supply you but they are available to you from companies wanting to sell them to you. Don't expect the dealer to special order white wall tires from a tire company for you, that's something you may have to do yourself. Go to MINIUSA to see what options your dealer can offer you. This way you have reasonable expectations when dealing with them.
Many MINI owners do not use Run Flat tires! So you can easily just have your local tire company change out the tires for you! same with Tinted windows! Many owners DO NOT want the dealer to do it, they have a tint shoppe do it! same with the Moss products, the PIAA lights, etc... MINI owners spend allot of money on their MINIs making them special and ONE OF A KIND!
The ONLY limitation is your Imagination!!
or for me the Money!
Go to MINIUSA. Then come back here and get all sorts of wonderful ideas of things you can add aftermarket!
Then get out the checkbook and start personalizing your MINI!!!!

I don't see how white walls are bling bling at all... my 86 Omni certainly wasn't--it had white walls. They're just cool. And I think they'd look fab on my IB/W MCS. Like Rob said, just a retro look.
