ok, parked the car at the store for like 20 min and when i came out...someone had snapped off my NEW shorty ant!!! it is snapped of clean at the threads..GRRRRRR... now i am guessing i have to go out and buy a new easy out set so i can get the threads out and then put my old one back in.
ONLY HAD IN FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS!!

 

What the heck? That stinks. WHY on earth would someone do that?

 

i dont know ..maybe everyone wants a piece of herman. What is pissing me off is i cant get the piece of the old one out!

 

Oh, that sucks! Some people will steal ANYTHING ... it's so frustrating. I bought some cool stem valve covers for my other car and they were stolen within a day!

 

Yeah, probably just jealous. Sad. Good luck getting the piece out.

That reminds me, when I purchased my MINI I noticed (after I had gotten it home) that half the antenna had been cut off. Strangeness abound.

Can you take a dremel with a cut off wheel, put a cut into the broken piece so that you can use a flat bladed screw driver and turn it out? That really **** poor to have that happen to you or any one!

It looked horrible, though! Had to buy a new shorty 7" even though I don't listen to the radio. Purely æsthetic.

The more MINIs on the road, the greater the chances of some jerk being jealous and taking it out on the poor unsuspecting MINI that they don't have.

 

couple weeks ago one of my friends parked next to me..and threw open her door...and knicked my door...she was soo clueless for the first couple minutes..i honestly dropped my purse and almost screamed or burst into tears...i just sat there..jaw dropped eyes very wide.....as soon as she realized what she did she quickly shut her door and hugged me apologizing..it wasnt too bad..just a little surface knick..buffed right out..but it almost killed me!!

 

Sorry to hear. Stuff like that gets me so angry. I've been a victim of vandalism and theft as well. It sucks.

I have no issue with how it looks or functions -- if you want to pay for a shorty, you certainly can. . . but my wire-cutter mod was free.

 

well i finally got it out...only cost 25 bucks for a new easy out..PAIN IN THE A#&. OLD BIG ONE BACK ON. oh well it looks ok as a remote controll car

 

Do these shorty antenna's help with reception, or are they worse? I wouldnt buy one for looks, but if it helped with reception I might, but I am doubting it would help.
