R50/53 Ordering question...
Just a question for y'all...I have ordered my '04 CR/W MC, (Can't Wait for October Club member...lol), build date approx. 9/19/03...I ordered the 8-sopke 15" wheels, but the more I look at the 5-spoke 16" and run-flat tires, the more I like them...what is my window of changing any aspect of my order before it's too late?
Thriller - Call up your MA and ask!
There's a threshold point where they can still change the order; you'll be close to that point with your 9/19 build date.
Cheers,
Ryan
oh, and my $0.02, go for the white 5-spokes, they look goooood

All MINI wheels are available in silver or white: Holeys, 8-spokes, 5-spokes, V-spokes, S-lites. The MINI Accessory wheels are available only in silver (like the R90)
Yes, White are more difficult to keep clean. If you get white wheels, I recommend getting different brake pads that dust less obscenely than stock.

Ryan

Hi,
I changed my CR/W Cooper's wheels from silver 8 spokes to white 16" wheels with runflats about 5 days after I placed my order at the dealer. They acted as if I barely made the time frame for changing items but I suspect it could be done for a while longer. Like you the more I looked the better the 5 spoke 16" wheels looked. Also, I got white because I like the looks and they are not as common as silver. If there're hard to keep clean, so be it.

Thrillhouse,
You should have time to change your wheels with no problems. It's only when your order goes to Status 112 (in Production) that it's more difficult. Call your MA as suggested. He/she should do it and call you back and tell you it's done. BTW, who is your dealer?
There are 5 of us from CA that have MCS's ordered from Classic Mini in Mentor OH (Julie Saxa is our MA) and we've all made changes this week. My MCS has the same production date as yours.
As far as the white wheels, look into RejeX. It's a polymer that you put on clean wheels, let it dry, polish with a clean towel, and let it "cure" for 12 hours. After that your brake dust won't stick; and will hose off with water. Supposed to last for about 4 months. Check out http://www.corrosionx.com for details and prices.
